 How to Control Your Android Phone or iPhone on Windows PC for FREE /New easy way 2021

Today i want to show you (How you can both send and receive text messages on a windows pc and this will work irrespective of what type of phone you have it'll work with both iphone and android now )windows includes an app called your phone but chances are it doesn't work with your phone,
    It works really well with samsung devices but,if you have another type of android phone or if you have an iphone you're out of luck or at least we thought you were out of luck there's an app called mobile connect and it's distributed by dell and it's completely free and it works with all phones not only can you send and receive text messages but,you could also see all of your phone's notifications.

you can make phone calls you can download photos and videos from your phone and you can even mirror your phone onto your pc and you can control your phone directly from your pc,this is an amazing application that, i use on a daily basis and i would recommend having it on your computer all right.

Let's check this out to be able to send and receive text messages from your windows pc first off.

Install Dell Mobile Connect driver :

we need to install a driver and this is called the dell mobile connect driver this will serve as an interface between your pc and your phone. you can download it on the following website i've also included a link in given below.

so,you can simply click on it there although it is called dell mobile connect you can install this on any type of pc on this page.

simply scroll down a little bit and right here. you'll see a download button click on that and that'll kick off an exe download once it's done downloading  .click on it and install. once you click on the exe this launches an installer simply click on the text that says install now.
    we can see that it's successfully installed the driver next up we need to install the dell mobile connect app and we can do that using the microsoft store.
  

Check system compatibility :

open up the microsoft store now this is the version that comes with windows 11. so if you're on windows 10 it might look a little bit different but we can still run through the same flow up in the search field.
   
simply type in dell mobile connect and here we see the best match for dell mobile connect. let's click on this option this drops us on the store page for mobile connect and right up at the top.you can see all the different things tha you can do with this app and once again this is an amazing app.

if you have a recent dell computer right over here in this space.you'll see a button that allows you to install this app.

However, If you have an older dell computer or maybe you have a different computer.you'll probably see text at the top that says this app is not compatible with this device.

I'll show you how you can make this app compatible with your device to make your device compatible with this app. we need to make one simple change in the registry and i know that might sound a little bit daunting but, once again it is truly simple and i'll walk you through step by step.

How you can do this let's go down to your taskbar and click
on the search icon and within search type in run and then,click enter this opens up the run dialog and within the field here.

let's type in regedit once you type that in click on ok this opens up the registry editor and right here.you can see the location that you're currently in type in this location that i have right here.i've also included this in the down below. so, you can simply copy and paste. it from there this is specific for the store for the store here we'll see these different values in the registry and there's one item called store content modifier and here this will show what type of machine you have let's right click on that and then select modify this opens up a prompt.
   where we can modify the value and here let's type in dell underscore xps and then click on  . so,why are we changing this value well.when you go to the microsoft store it looks at what type of device you have and you need it to match
this value to be able to install the app.

Update registry  :

once you're all done making that change you can close out of the registry see,i wasn't kidding it was a pretty simple change now that we've updated the registry.

we now need to reset the microsoft store so it takes that new value into account down on the taskbar let's click on the search icon and here again let's type in run this once again opens up the run prompt and in the field type in ws reset dot exe this is an executable that's already on your computer and it resets the windows store.

which is why it has a ws or the microsoft store.once you type that in simply click on ok,once it finishes it'll relaunch the microsoft store,and at this point i would also recommend restarting your computer to make sure that it takes that new value into account from your registry now that you've restarted your computer.

Install Dell Mobile Connect app in Microsoft Store :

once again launch the microsoft store app and up above type in dell mobile connect. Then, click on the best match again and right here we now see that my device is compatible with this app and right here.I see the install button now. If you're still seeing the error message on top you might need to try going into the registry and entering it in again.
    sometimes it's just a little bit finicky.when you're ready to install click on the install button once you're done installing. Then click on launch this opens up the app and we're now getting really close to being able to send and receive text messages from a windows pc right down at the bottom.
  
   let's check this box and then click on get started,next choose the phone that you want to use with your pc.

you can either choose android or iphone i'm going to select an iphone and then click on next,

Configure app on PC & phone :

Next we need to install the app on our phone and by far the easiest way to do that is to take a picture of the qr code using your phone i've opened up the camera app on my phone and here i'll aim it at the qr code here, it identifies it and right here.i can click on this link and this will allow me to install the app this brings us to the store page for dell mobile connect.

If you don't have it yet you can click on install i've already done that so i'll click on open next we need to pair the phone app with your pc. app right down here click on the text that says pair with a pc next it shows me an encryption code that i need to enter on my pc here i'll type in the code exactly as it looks over on my phone and then i'll click on next and right now it's connecting my phone to my pc.

Next, i see a message asking me. if i want to approve the display of notifications i do so i'll make sure. I click on allow and then click on next and my device is now all connected.

   so i'll click on finish and check that out my phone and my pc are now in sync using the mobile connect app let's take a quick look at what i can do with this app over on the left hand side the first option is notifications and here i can see all of my phone notifications directly on my pc under that i have the option for phone and here.
 
I can click on any one of my contacts to call them through my pc using my phone to the right of that,i have a dialer here i could just dial in a phone number next up.
we have messages and here's where i can send and receive text messages when i receive a text message i'll see it appear here now. One of the downsides of using this app you won't see a history of your text messages.

so, it'll only show you text messages that arrived when you connected your phone to your pc also one drawback when you send group text messages it'll send to each individual instead of the group but, hey you got your text messages on
the pc so it's pretty nice.

Next up we have files and here. I can see all the photos on my phone. I could also see all of the videos on my phone and here let's say i want to download this picture of my wife and my two kids.I can click on that and this will download it to my computer directly from my phone and next up. we have mirroring and here i can mirror my phone onto my pc within the dell mobile connect app down here.i'll click on mirroring right here.
I'll click on start broadcast and check that out my phone is now being mirrored on my pc right here within the dell mobile connect app.

I can even set it up so my mouse on my pc controls my phone they have some instructions on. How to do it i'll go ahead and enable that and check this out i can now use my mouse on my pc to interact with my phone here.i'll click on messages and right down here i can use my keyboard to type in a message,that's pretty slick down in the bottom left hand corner i also have some additional settings right here i can turn on do not disturb.

so this way notifications phone calls and text messages won't appear on my pc,and at the very bottom i have some additional settings let's check out.what's there within settings across the top here. I can add additional phones to my pc.
I could also decide should the app start up.when,i start windows i could define what all the different notifications look like and i could also choose which notifications should appear on my pc,i also have some mirroring settings i could provide feedback and there's some information about the app.
